]]> Cũng như TD 201, TD 202 vẫn là mẫu mâm được hãng thiết kế dành cho người mới chơi đĩa than, hầu hết những gì cần thiết đều được hãng trang bị và cân chỉnh cẩn thận ngay từ khi xuất xưởng. Tất cả những gì người chơi cần làm đơn giản là cấp nguồn và cắm cáp tín hiệu, ngay lập tức những âm thanh mộc mạc từ đĩa than đã sẵn sàng để thưởng thức.

Mâm Thorens TD 202 sử dụng cơ cấu truyền động bằng dây cu-roa thông qua motor DC. Mâm xoay platter được làm từ nhôm, bên trên đi kèm một tấm lót mâm bằng cao su chống trượt.

Trang bị tiêu chuẩn trên mẫu mâm Thorens TD 202 là tay cần Thorens TP 71 mới nhất của hãng với cơ cấu headshell (đầu giữ kim) có thể tách rời dễ dàng và nhanh chóng. So với TD 201, mâm TD 202 có phần chất lượng hơn nhờ được lắp đầu kim cartridge AT 95E (MM) do hãng Audio Technica sản xuất.

Ngoài mạch pre-phono tích hợp sẵn với khả năng tắt mở tùy ý, mâm TD 202 còn sở hữu một tính năng rất thú vị: đó là khả năng xuất ngược đĩa than thành file nhạc số chất lượng cao lưu trên máy tính thông qua cổng USB Out. ]]> The weight has been optimized for high performance. To reduce vibrations, the synchronous AC motor is mounted directly onto the damped sub-chassis driving the sub-platter via a machined precision belt.

Suspension

The sub-chassis is suspended by means of three conical springs which can be adjusted from above in order to achieve uniform tension. The bearing is made of sintered bronze with a Teflon thrust pad and optimized for smooth running.

The steel axle supported therein provides very low, constant friction and thus presents a uniform load to the motor. Two of the turntable’s three feet can be leveled from above, which facilitates setup.

Three-part platter

The polished aluminium platter features an acrylic insert that acts as a damping pad for the grooved area of the record.

Tonearm Options

Depending on the model, different damping architectures, tonearm boards and platters are used. The tonearm board is also made of triCom and can be cut for almost any 9″ and 10″ tonearm at the factory.

Với triết lý thiết kế tương tự, mâm TD-350 cũng được ứng dụng hệ thống giảm xóc đôi độc lập IDD (Independent Double Damping) cho vỏ máy phụ (sub-chassis) được treo lơ lửng giữa bệ máy chính nhằm cách ly tất cả các rung chấn theo cả phương ngang lẫn phương thẳng đứng độc lập với nhau. Có thể hình dung cách thiết kế này như các con quay hồi chuyển luôn luôn bảo toàn vị trí tương đối của mình trước mọi ngoại lực tác động.

Đặc biệt, mâm TD-350 đã được trang bị sẵn tay cần Thorens TP-92 với một mức giá, dễ chịu hơn rất nhiều so với mẫu mâm đầu bảng TD-550.

Thanks to elaborate control circuitry, an extremely stable acrylic plinth and a heavy aluminium platter, the turntables are made to sound as exciting as they look.

The external motor unit of the Thorens Acrylic-Series was constructed in a way that there is no mechanical contact to the plinth, thus avoiding transfer of vibration. In addition, the entire turntable rests on special feet which effectively dampen all kinds of air-born or footfall vibrations and eventually ensure a continuous, undisturbed run of the platter.

The TP 92 tonearm, which was specially designed for Thorens turntables, uses an ultra-low-friction bearing and an innovative magnetic anti-bias system with zero stiction. The arm tube is made from rolled aluminium that is damped using RMR (Reduced Modal Resonance) technology. The brass counterweight at the end of the arm tube is double-decoupled, and the tonearm is so designed that its centre of gravity is level with the stylus.
