The EINSTEIN The Silver Bullet OTL is a quite typical EINSTEIN design, offering a fully symmetrical circuit design, making a best possible signal to noise ratio a guarantee. Even numbered distortions, which have adverse affects on sound quality, are simply not part of this type of circuit and therefore the signal remains pure and free from any such distortion interference. These are the same principles as with our other audio components, The Preamp and The Source. True to the concept of a wire with gain coupled with the shortest signal paths, the amplifier stages are reduced to only the most necessary. The Class A PPP stage (parallel push-pull output stage) was conceived as the optimal choice providing operating points with high current and exemplary linearity with incredible bandwidth. Sound degrading crossover distortion simply doesn’t occur and by galvanically coupling the loudspeaker, exemplary bass performance, down to the lowest registers, can be reached.
As with The Preamp, an extremely capable power supply is required to maintain the stability of these innovative circuits. By utilizing filtering and current source circuits, all supply voltages remain absolutely clean and constant over a wide bandwidth. Thus, even mains fluctuations are no longer a deterrent to the overall sound quality of our OTL design.
An EINSTEIN exclusively developed control technology allows us to utilize an OTL circuit 100 % with all of the sonic advantages this circuit topology harbors. There is no relay in signal path to the loudspeaker; the loudspeaker is directly coupled to the output tubes, yet remains 100% protected from any tube defects or issues. This results in an exemplary damping factor over the entire audio range, low distortion values and a dynamic behavior that can easily handle even the fastest signal transients . This is what we call “useful dynamic” at any volume level, with no compression or artifacts. In conjunction with our new The Preamp, our new OTL is a music player entering an entirely new dimension – absolutely realistic and emotionally charged audio magic!

After years of trial and error, the conclusion was to copy our own The Silver Bullet OTL circuit , but with transistors in the output stage. Yet again this resulted in an EINSTEIN typical circuit which, outside of our own adoption, hasn’t seen much of an audience in the world of high-end audio. As in our OTL designs, the circuit is designed as fully balanced and thus is able to captivate with an incredible signal to noise ratio and the elimination of typical sound influencing circuit distortions. By choosing a high bias current design, excellent linearity is achieved with extreme bandwidth extension on both sides of the frequency spectrum. Dynamics aren’t compressed in any way and no matter the listening level, no audible compression level is heard, leaving you to hear every possible detail.

As with our OTL circuit, a differential amplifier is used in a cascade circuit. The input stage of the new The Poweramp, consists of double triodes, type EI PCC88, which produce extreme linearity. As in the OTL, this circuit utilizes the incoming signal to create an absolutely symmetrical – balanced – signal with the appropriate amplification level. This clever design enables us to use two identical power amplifier transistors in the output stage, with absolutely identical technical specifications, comparable to the power tubes in our The Silver Bullet OTL. The mass here is also “floating”, which in practice means no interference problems with ground loops that degrade the signal to noise ratio. Of course, as is typical with all EINSTEIN electronics, the volume relay is not in the signal path.
As with all other EINSTEIN circuits, a very advanced power supply is required to maintain stable power for our innovative circuits. Tremendous energy reserves and the decoupling and stabilization of all important supply voltages ensures this even in poor power conditions. Due to the excellent damping factor and the incredible power supply stability – even at the peak-to-peak impulses – our The Poweramp can drive almost any speaker without any problems. Obviously, great loudspeakers will benefit quite nicely from our newest amplifier.

With our new The Poweramp, we have thus reached our goal: realistic, incredibly resolved playback with natural dynamics and no compression. You are able to immerse yourself even deeper in your music, almost as if you were attending a live concert.
